The Procurement Unit aims to achieve value for money through procurement processes for goods, works, and services funded with public funds, meeting the needs of user departments and units within the district in a competitive, fair, and transparent manner to ensure proper accountability.

The Unit also provides technical support for all procurement activities with regard to the Public Procurement Act, to help achieve the objectives of the Mpohor District Assembly.

Function

1. a
   Receive procurement requests from originating officers, checking that the proposed procurement is within the approved procurement plan and that budgeted funds are available prior to commencing procurement proceedings.
2. b
   Ensure that funds are properly committed prior to the issue of any contract or purchase order.
