Meeting With Head of Local Government Service


The District Coordinating Director led the introduction of the staff, where everyone introduced himself or herself to the dignitaries present. After the introduction, the DCD also introduced himself and the dignitaries present, i.e. Head of Regional Coordinating Director WRCC, Mr. Fred Agyemang, the District Chief Executive, Ignatius Asaah Mensah, Chief Director of LGS, Mr. James Oppong Mensah and Head of service ING Ato Arthur.
THE HEAD OF SERVICE INTERACTION MESSAGE
He said it's a privilege to be in Mpohor and commended staff for using poor road network to work everyday. He said 60% of the staff always come from Takoradi. He commended the district once again during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC. He went straight into the ills in the system as he generalized it in a whole. Head of service shared the predicaments of the district and the staff.

He admonished members that anytime a person needs work they will come to his office and when getting the appointment, they come to him for reposting. He said staff have choices to be in any of the 261 MMDAs. He reiterated that there's going to be massive transfers in the service. He shared his opinion by saying many offices find it difficult to work together. For instance, social welfare and Community development officer in the same office find it difficult to work together.

He said no class, department, or unit is better than the other, including the cleaners are more important to the district coordinating director. He calls for respect for each other, he added is not all the classes need these number of staffs. He said there's the need for reshuffling in the service. He called for motivation of staff by saying it's not always about cash but in the form of citations and in various forms like studying abroad. He said some officers from agriculture department will be taking to India for Climate change program. Furthermore, he spoke on finance officer that most of them think they work under CAGD, so revenue mobilisation is not of a concern to them. He spoke about some staff complaining unnecessarily by each other and the various leaders should be careful about these complainers.

He said that participating in active parties in public is against Ghanaian law. According to him, they want to know how the Mpohor District would grow in terms of revenue mobilization and other things. He claimed that all six employees of LGS who participated in politics were sacked. He claimed that due of the poor behavior of some employees, new hires frequently have a challenging past. He claimed that the majority of the employees does not report to work on Fridays. He suggested that we cooperate to support the CEO in his endeavors. Although there is only one chief executive at any given time, he said that the service is not for political parties but for neutrality.
