Ghana Employment and Social Protection (Gesp) Programme Productive Inclusive Training


The Ghana Employment and Social Protection (GESP) Programme is a social protection intervention implemented by the government and funded by the European Union (EU).
The GESP programme seeks to contribute to inclusive growth in Ghana by strengthening social protection and employment systems in the country with specific coverage locations including the Western Region
The Regional Minister upon the introduction of the staff by the Coordinating Director, said the staff is young and could work hard to ensure productivity. He particularly said the Physical Planning and Works Department could liaise together to ensure growth of the district. He said staff should be neutral in their work even though everyone votes. He added Mpohor District.

TheAssembly is the second poorest in the region.A component of the programme has been designed to promote employment opportunities for vulnerable individuals in 19 partner districts including Mpohor, to equip them with skills and resources to earn incomes through productive inclusion (PI). The programme has seen to training of 16 young people (8 males and 8 females) from the district in various fields such as Dress making and tailoring, Vegetable and Agro Production, Cosmetology, Alumina fabrication, Electronics and Auto mechanic.
The training has so far ended and their start up kits have been delivered to the district to be handed over to the participants.
