Assembly Acts Against Unauthorized Structures on Waterways

The Mpohor-Fiase District Assembly has commenced the demolition of unauthorized structures obstructing waterways across the district as part of efforts to promote orderly development, improve drainage and reduce the risk of flooding.

The exercise forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to protecting lives, property and the environment. Structures on waterways can obstruct the natural flow of water and increase danger to nearby communities during heavy rains.

Residents are urged to comply with planning and building regulations and to avoid developing on waterways and other unauthorized locations.
