There is renewed hope for motorists and commuters in the Mpohor District as the long-neglected Kejebir–Mpohor road has now been captured under
President Mahama’s Big Push inisurface.
Work has commenced on the 13-kilometre stretch, which had remained largely unmotorable despite sod-cutting ceremonies in 2018 and 2021 that
produced no tangible results. Traditional authorities and residents are now expressing optimism that the project will finally be completed.
The contractor, Justmoh Construction, has outlined the scope of the project. According to a representative of the company, the road design is a continuation of the Apowa–Kejebir road and will be paved with high-strength paving blocks, rated at fifty newtons, as the final surface. Production of materials has already begun at the company’s factory, with an estimated sixteen million paving blocks required for the project. Crushed rock for the base and sub-base layers is also being produced at their quarry..
The company has assured that the project will be completed within a 24-month construction period and expressed confidence in meeting the timeline.
As the Regional Minister, I am pleased that Justmoh Construction has mobilized to site, thanks to the intervention of the President. I extend my sincere appreciation to His Excellency for listening to the concerns of the people and ensuring that work has finally begun.
"Together with the District Chief Executive, the Member of parliament, and the good people of the district, we are encouraged by the contractor’s return to site. However, our satisfaction will only be complete when the road is fully delivered. We therefore expect the contractor to maintain the highest standards and deliver a quality project for the people." Hon Joe Nelson reiterated.
