Mpohor District Assembly Holds 66th Independence Day Celebration at Adum-Banso


Speaking on the theme for the celebration, “Our unity, our strength, our purpose”, Mr Ignatius Asaah- Mensah, the district chief executive entreated all gathered to continue in unity as a nation and shun what divides us. The electrifying cultural displays put up by BOPP D/A elementary and Junior High Schools really entertained the audience and got them glued..

The climax of the celebration was the matching competition by the participating schools where the schools exhibited their matching prowess. At the end, deserving schools were awarded. The member of parliament for the district, John Kwabena Abbam Aboah Sanie, presented four (4) Samsung tablets to best performing BECE and SHS students, two males and two females to facilitate in their academic research. The gesture will also encourage others to be steadfast in the studies.

John Sanie, continued to present four laptops to best performing teachers to enhance academic research and for others to emulate. The paramedics were not left out of the celebration. They professionally attended to those who fainted due to the long hours of standing in the scorching and tainted sun. The paramount chief of Adum-Banso, nana Brempong (the 3rd), in his address advised all to shield away partisan politics and forge ahead for the the growth of the district and the country at large. The nationwide celebration was held at Adaklu, in the Volta Region.
